Auckland Regional Public Health Service (ARPHS) can confirm that an employee of Hāpai Te Hauora has been diagnosed as a COVID-19 case.

ARPHS has identified the person’s close contacts, and these people have already been contacted and advised to get tested and to self-isolate for a full 14 days.

The person, and their household members, have done all the right things and will remain in isolation and self-isolation until cleared by public health.

The risk to other Hāpai Te Hauora staff not identified as close contacts, and those employees who work for other organisations in the same building, is considered very low.

However, as there are currently cases of COVID-19 in the community, it remains important to be vigilant for the signs of the virus.

The symptoms of COVID-19 can include one or more of the following:

  • New or worsening cough
  • Sore throat
  • Runny nose
  • Fever
  • Temporary loss of smell
  • Difficulty breathing

Anyone who develops any of these symptoms should stay at home, call their doctor or Healthline for advice, and arrange to get tested as soon as possible. Healthline is a free, 24/7 service with interpreters available - call 0800 358 5453.
